There
are many types of inspections ranging from visual inspections performed
by a Certified Welding Inspector to combinations of non
destructive inspections handled by a welding consultant acting
as an owner’s representative
who will parallel the viewpoint of the Authorized Inspector (AI). Although
these inspections may seem casual to an observer, a trained individual
can obtain a great deal of information. Such inspections can reveal areas
where problems can be prevented or more expedient methods may be employed. Vendor surveillance inspections are
another area that is equally important for expediting work. During this
time weld
inspections will be performed.
These actions eliminate hidden costs, which are commonly incurred on or
off site due to lack of attention from vendors.
