It’s critical for scheduling and cost saving purposes to continually bring together all phases of the ongoing events related to new construction. When you’re using AWS, ASME, and National Board Codes in various phases, it is critical to keep abreast of how individual jobs are impacting others. This effort should begin with a review of the contractual language and continue to the end of all job activities.

Having an independent third-party inspector to do surveillance over contracted labor can result in cost saving and ensure compliance to the National Board Code, ASME, AWS or jurisdictional codes. Welding procedures and Welder Certifications must be documented. Such documentation should prevent rework and unnecessary repairs and alterations. Documentation shall include, but not be limited to, a Traveler Package specifically detailed for the applicable job requirements.
